Manoucher Yektai was an Iranian-born American artist known for his abstract expressionist style.
Yektai was best recognized for his association with the New York School art movement. His painterly works include portraits and still lifes, which he placed on the floor during the process of painting. His gestural approach was a significant part of his practice. His works can be found in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
In addition to his paintings, Yektai has also created works on paper. They often feature bright colors, dynamic lines, and intense patterns, reflecting his interest in the exploration of artistic freedom.
